Nutri Packs Program:

Volunteers are needed to go and help pack the food bags at Central Dauphin Middle School every first Wed. of the month at 4:30pm (starting Oct. 4th)   This program distributes hundreds of food bags to many area families needing help and lots of hands are needed in getting them ready for distribution.  (CVZ Church is actually a distribution location for Dauphin families)   Volunteers to hand out Nutri Packs every Wed. night at 5:30pm at CVZ Church are also needed.  To be put on a rotating schedule please contact the office or Ruth Knapp.

Children Ministries Volunteers

We are always in need of volunteers for Sunday School Teachers and helpers, Jr. Church leaders and helpers and Nursery volunteers.  We are especially in need of Nursery coverage for both Worship  Services.  If you are CAPP Certified* please  consider  volunteering for Nursery duty or any Children Ministry.  Contact the Church office if interested.

Journey Partners

“Journey Partners” is a one on one discipleship program instituted here at CVZ in 2009.  The bookmark format allows the participants to engage in their partner’s life, hold each other accountable and lift each other up in intercessory prayer.  The previous Sunday’s sermon is explored in greater depth through questions and scripture reading.

If you are interested in being a Journey Partner for the new cycle (beginning Sept. 17) and being paired one on one with the promise to meet regularly, please contact Pastor Mike or Ruth Knapp.   You are free to continue with a past partnership or begin with a new partner.

Journey Partners: Look for the shoe in the North narthex containing each week’s cards.

May God richly bless your experience.

This year, instead of collecting school supplies for Joe Toy and his Inner City  Philadelphia ministry, we included funds in our annual budget.  On August 11, a carload of boxes were delivered to Joe’s home.
We have received the following from Joe:
We are thankful to all the churches that gave to the “Back to School” outreach. This year we were able to give out 50 backpacks filled with  supplies and another 100 bags filled with supplies, plus supplies to a teacher, and supplies to be given by the pastors at two churches in the inner city.  –  God Bless – Joe Toy

Joe Toy will be our Missionary Prayer Partner in October.  This is an opportunity for you to partner with Joe in prayer on a specific date – he and Wendy will pray for you as you pray for them.  Please see the display in either narthex to get your prayer partner slip, fill it out, and return it to Pat Lex or Shirley Shoop by September 24 (so they get all the slips before October begins).

A.C.T. Christmas Drama 2017

Christmas in July?
Yes, it may be a little early to be thinking about Christmas—but not for ACT Drama Group. We are already thinking about our Christmas Production for this December. We were unable to have a production last year and would like to start planning for this year by seeing who is interested in participating in a large Christmas musical production.
ACT has scheduled the Christmas Production for December 9 & 10, 2017. Lots of help will be needed on stage and behind the scenes in order to continue this annual Christmas Production. We need adult actors, (singers and non singers), children actors and chorus members. If you would like to be a part of the cast or help behind the scenes this Christmas, please sign up online (link below) or see Gail Grubb (ACT Committee President)
A commitment for the ACT Christmas Production consists of (stage actors and chorus) about 10-12 weeks of rehearsal (usually one day a week/Sunday afternoons) starting late September and (Cast and Stage Crew) help with set construction, props and costumes on a few scheduled Saturday work days in October and November.
ACT is open to all ages and open to our community. You do not need to attend CVZ Church to participate. Sign Up online through the month of July to join ACT Drama Group’s Christmas Production and be a part of this unique outreach ministry.
